Standby is strong, but the lack of additional soul on playing the standby climax makes its early game suffer. In the switch build, it also struggles to control compression, since the Kirito brainstormer is the likely choice. Combining these two factors, triggering the climaxes is rarer, recovering from bad compression is harder, and damage output is less in the early game.
By combining Yuuki combo and Standby combo, handsize should stay moderate while providing flexibility in which combo to trigger at each stage of the game. Playing Standby at lvl 0 to pull a Yuuki into the backrow, double Yuuki combo at level 1 to compress, Standby combo at level 2 when two soul beaters and empty lanes are available, finisher combo at level 3 or Standby climax for an Asuna support with Leafa clock kicker.
